ANYA KNEES

 Company Marketing Coordinator
(she/her)

Anya Knees puts the “b” in “subtlety.” She is a cunning linguist and producer of wholesome transsexual fun. Ah, Yes, The Two Genders: Let’s Go to Church! was her breakout burlesque and variety show, in which one lucky audience member got to find their true gender by being baptizes in the holy font composed of the genders represented that evening. (The theater banned the use of kiddie pools shortly thereafter.) With Butch Alice, she wrote O, Succulent! a “choose-your-own-disaster” play produced at Nordo’s Culinarium. It’s sequel, Vampires of the Neverwood, was produced by Annex Theater in 2021. In 2023, Anya debuted her first solo show: The Phantom of the Opera but Every Character Sings in a Different Language and Also I Play All the Parts.

She first appeared in Noveltease’s The Canterbury Tales as The Nun’s Priest in 2021, and then signed on as the Company Marketing Coordinator in 2023. If you’ve ever laughed at one of our emails, she’s the reason why.

Anya’s favorite book is Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables, which she credits for having turned her gay as a child.
