The Warrior Next Door doesn't believe in getting out of bed to be mediocre. Onyx Asili considers herself a kinky, semi-radical, sex-positive, monoflexible, womanist queer and a modern day Amazon warrior. In addition to her performance credits playing literal superheroes in nerdlesque shows like Batman: The Animated Striptease (Batman), She-Ra: Stripper of Power (Huntara), and Burl-X-Men: Days of Future Ass (Storm), she also has a background in stage management, lighting, and set design. Onyx has also appeared onstage at Sunday Night Shuga Shaq, the only all POC burlesque revue in the Pacific Northwest, and is a professional bondage rope artist, showing her flexibility as both a rigger and a model.

Onyx’s favorite writer is Octavia Butler, and she’s currently reading Afro-futurist works by Nnedi Okarafor and Tomi Adeyemi.
